After graduating from the School of Agronomy of the University of the Republic of Uruguay, Mr. Caldeyro obtained a Master of Science degree at the University of Reading, England, in the area of Rural Development and Agricultural Extension. Said specialisation has allowed him to gain a vast experience in different areas, such as Generation Processes, Transfer, Diffusion and Application of Farming and Agricultural Technologies and Research Methods, Formulation, Implementation and Evaluation of Socio-Economic Projects. He has also been able to widen said knowledge in several seminars and congresses in the following countries: Italy, Israel, Jordan, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil and Mexico.

He is an International Consultant for FAO in Social and Commercial Hydroponics (Ecuador Project) and Brazil), responsible for the technical implementation of the nation-wide project for the use of Hydroponics as an Alimentary Security Strategy in Ecuador (Photos).

Mr. Caldeyro has been awarded the following acknowledgement: In 1997 the National Science and Technology Council (CONICYT), chose AQUAFOOD, as one of the most innovative undertakings in the country, “ Research and Development – Of Course it is Possible ” published by the CONICYT.

Since 1997, he has been the President of the Uruguayan Hydroponic Society (ASUDHI), of which he is a co-founding member.
